Visitors

You can read the journal without creating an account or signing up to a mailing list. We use essential technical information to operate the site, investigate errors and protect private pages. Private answers and messages are not included in our application error logs.

Essential cookies keep private sessions secure and protect forms.

Information about creators

We use information from a creator’s public work and from what they share with us to prepare their profile. We may contact a creator through a publicly listed business address about a feature. That address is not sold or added to a marketing list. Creators can decline an invitation.

Interviews, messages and photographs

Interview answers help us write the profile. Private messages, unpublished drafts and contact details are not displayed on the site. A creator can choose to include a public contact address in their feature.

Creators review their article before it is published and decide whether a supplied photograph may be included. Unpublished images remain private. Please only send photographs you own or have permission to share.

Service providers

We use service providers for hosting, data storage, email delivery and editorial tools. They receive the information needed to provide those services. Contact details are excluded from automated drafting requests.

Retention

Closed email correspondence is retained for up to 90 days and delivery records for up to 12 months. We keep publication records while a profile is live. A minimal record of a request not to be contacted is kept so we can respect that choice. Removing a public profile does not automatically delete every associated editorial record; you can also request deletion of your personal information.

Your choices

You can ask about the information we hold about you, request a correction or ask us to delete personal information. Creators can also request removal of a profile. Contact the editorial desk with privacy questions or requests.
