Edition 01 · Global

100 profiles · Eight desks · Below 100K at selection

A field guide to work worth noticing early.

Opening brief

July 2026

Attention is abundant. Close attention is not.

Recommendation systems are very good at showing what is already moving. They are less useful at explaining why a body of work matters, how it became distinctive, or what it might reveal before consensus forms around it.

100 Under 100K begins from a slower question: what becomes visible when scale stops being the organising principle? The answer is not one aesthetic or career path. It is a field of precise differences.

Edition 01 is the first map of that field: one hundred creators, eight desks, and a wider picture of independent work taking shape before broad recognition.

Issue themes

The connective tissue.

Four editorial observations recur across disciplines. They help us read the edition horizontally, without forcing unlike creators into a single definition of success.

01

Expertise becomes a format

The most useful creators are not simply sharing knowledge. They are finding visual, verbal, and participatory forms that make specialist thinking travel.

02

Process moves to the foreground

Finished work still matters, but the decisions, revisions, systems, and experiments behind it increasingly form the more revealing story.

03

Specificity builds connection

A precise subject, place, technique, or point of view can create more meaning than broad relatability. Smaller scope often produces richer work.

04

Independence becomes infrastructure

Creators are assembling durable practices across platforms, commissions, products, teaching, and community—not waiting for a single gatekeeper.

The first hundred

Opening in chapters.

Every profile captures a creator below 100,000 followers at the moment of selection. The collection remains a record of that early chapter as their work continues to develop.

The first chapter opens soon.

The first creators will enter Edition 01 here, opening the collection chapter by chapter.

One threshold, many practices

One hundred does not mean one type of creator.

The edition crosses disciplines, platforms, places, languages, and formats. What connects the creators is not a shared aesthetic—it is work with enough clarity and substance to reward a closer look.

01

Different stages

Some are refining a long practice; others are giving a new idea its first coherent public form.

02

Different formats

A body of work may live in images, essays, demonstrations, products, performances, or a combination of them.

03

Different audiences

Influence can be local, specialist, practical, cultural, or deeply felt by a small community.

04

No ranked order

The number identifies the collection. It does not turn unlike work into a contest.
